About the Research:
This undergraduate thesis focuses on the event and the factor which caused a massacre of Kurds race in Halabja, North Iraq that occurred on Friday, March 16, 1988, in Saddam Hussein regime. This research uses analytical description method. The massacre of Kurds Race in North Iraq occurred in a Kurds village named Halabja. Saddam made a policy which was about the use of mortal gas bomb in Halabja based on his authoritarian characteristic and the politic of tyranny and terror that he done from the influence of his rough environment. His tyranny characteristic was even much more able to be seen when he joined Baath Party, a party which followed tribalism that concern to prior and purify Arab ethnicity. Kurds ethnic had been tried to separate themselves from Iraq to form an independent Kurdistan country long before Saddam and Baath governed because of the ethnic discrimination and belief. When Baath Part ideology governed, Kurds Race had increased their fight with series of rebellion but Saddam Regime and Baath Party responded by oppressing the Kurds human rights. Iran-Iraq war became the peak of Kurds Race’s fight to overthrow Saddam Hussein regime by helping Iran through the Iraq confine. Saddam regime then called Kurds,ts a traitor which had caused many obstacles to Iraq government so that without considering the effect of humanity crises, Saddam chose Halabja as a place for nuclear weapon test that was made by a weapon company, Iraq Atomic Energy.
